May - March 

The beginning of the diving season. Ocean conditions gradually stabilize after the rainy months, bringing clearer visibility, gentle currents, and comfortable diving conditions — ideal for underwater exploration and marine photography.

June-August

Prime season for experienced divers. Visibility reaches its peak while nutrient-rich currents attract larger pelagic species. This is the best period to experience the legendary action of Diving Belongas The Magnet.

September-November

Still considered an exceptional diving window, with warm waters, calmer seas, and more relaxed conditions. A perfect balance between adventure and comfort for divers seeking premium experiences in Belongas Bay.

December – February

Off-season period. Stronger winds and changing sea conditions may reduce visibility and limit access to certain dive sites. Most operators reduce or pause diving activities during this time.

Overall Best Period

June to September — Best for pelagic encounters and marine action.

Belongas Bay is famous for one major highlight: hammerhead sharks.

Most often seen at The Magnet, where cooler, nutrient-rich water brings them closer to divers.

Sightings are not guaranteed, but this is the only place in Lombok with seasonal schooling hammerheads.
